Making a blueprint;

As a team we decided to do the interior of a mansion as we felt like this we could showcase assets better by making furniture and decor. After discussing various layouts of a mansion and ways we decided to do a walkthrough video style project, each of us taking a room each to create. By taking a room each we believe that we can create a layout and room style that we like but stay with the group theme. My room is the bathroom, which we have envisioned being at the end of the walkthrough on the second floor.

This is the initial blueprint for the layout of the rooms. As a group we decided that the camera would start in a hallway, pan through the rooms on the bottom floors then climb a staircase in the library to the rooms on the floor above.

This is the groups final more detailed blueprint. The improvement has been made by including where doors will be opened and left closed, which means we can now prepare a blockout of our room .

To experiment with blocking out a room, I used the above website to build a room. The website is really handy as it has a list of furniture that you simply click and drop into the room. I recommended the website to my team to help them plan rooms and fill up floor space. The only downside to the website was that it had no Victorian style furniture, so the main purpose of the website was to give height ratios, distances and floor planning to bring into Maya.
