Week 9’s World of Animation subject was about North American Animation, the history of North American / Canadian Animation and how they are compared to each other.
North American Animation’s contents are about early American animation (before its use of synchronised sound and after) and other mentions such as the Great Depression, WW2 and the CGI revolution.
For Canadian Animation, however, we learnt about lost media, early Canadian animations and some of Canada’s animation contract work.
At the end of this lecture, we were given a task for each assignment group to make a pitch presentation. To do this we had to talk about our animation which is the Soviet Russian animation and give some examples by researching Russian animation industries and their work.
