My Reflection

Pitch Presentation Review

Thursday the 15th of February was the pitch presentation assessment where we had to present our progress through a presentation software e.g. Canva, Google Slides and Visme – showcasing our latest mood boards, storyboards, colour schemes, character designs and narrative concepts. The positive traits of our presentation were the layout and well-verbalised demonstration that we, group 12, had made as we had pronounced our words very clear and understandable to the viewer. However, the storyboards could have been more detailed and appealing by adding more shots and angles to each scene whilst giving depth to the narrative.

After receiving the feedback, we continue to use the lecturer’s advice by recreating our final storyboards.  Combining favourable shots from each team member to recreate a perfect sequence….

We have also created more character designs and layouts through digital art platforms whilst using Blender’s modelling software to recreate these pieces in 3D dimensions.

This week in general we focused on our ideas, creative sound,  finalising the story, concept designs, storyboards and 3D Animatics.

Presentation (Final Storyboards, Final Concept Designs and Animatics)

This week we made a presentation, introducing our finalised storyboards and concept designs along with our animatics for our short 30-60-second animation. Each presentation was organised in simple categories, ensuring the presentation had a decent amount of pictorial evidence throughout. Along with a good amount of explanation of each progress that we, group 12 have made. After Group 12 had done their presentation they were given subtle compliments as well as critiques for improvements. Having the same concept designs was the most critical as every design was different in terms of style. Therefore we must make sure our styles are similar to each other. We were also told to give more emphasis to the shots as we had little to no time. Even though there were some negative outputs we still had positive feedback at the end of the day.

For this week, however, we merely focused on finalising our animatics and creating our model designs through Blender. Honestly, it has been hard due to the struggle of time management and overall the configuration of work but within this trimester I’ve learned how to improve my time and my determination and positivity. Having ambition within my work as well as excellence and perfection.

From our Lecturer’s advice, we made our mission to be inspired by the children’s TV show ‘Funky Veggies’ from ‘Hey Bear Sensory – Funky Veggies! – Fun Dance Animation with Music- Baby Sensory Youtube.
