Self Reflection
It’s week 9 and we are introduced to Typology in Blender. Typology is about how the components of a mesh are ‘connected.’ Ref: https:///game-development/Topology
However, typology in general is the ‘classification of a certain type of category’. Ref: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/typology
Typology is important as it helps the creator to animate the model’s features effectively without a hassle. It also ensures that deformations look accurate and realistic. If you don’t use good typology, your mesh will look pinched, stretched, formed wrongly, and simply incorrect.
In class, we had to make a 3D low poly head, torso, legs, feet, hands and clothing by the use of Typology. I have included imaged development stages of modelling to showcase my modelling and sculpting progress.
Thoughts of this were good as I was able to completely make an entire body but the downside is that the whole configuration was difficult but I’m looking forward to improvement.
At the end of this assessment, we had to create our character designs using typology for our assignment. I used my main design for reference as well as inspiration. When I first designed the hair for my character I thought it was too much so I decided to change it. Honestly, I didn’t like the hair as I thought the frontal flicks didn’t suit the character but for my improved final design template, I will make sure the modelling is far better.
