We started off this week with a lecture on how to use the bezier curve tool and the brush stabiliser in krita to get cleaner lines for our animations. I found the bezier curve a lot easier to use than the brush stabiliser but I think a lot of that comes down to I am more used to traditional art so I don’t really use tablets that often. I found the bezier curve was easy with the mouse but more difficult to control with the tablet but once I figured out how to use it properly I found I enjoyed it. I tried the weighted and the stabiliser brush but found I couldn’t get the hang of the weighted one. I didn’t like the feel of how it moved and preferred the stabiliser brush.
Krita for whatever reason on my laptop wasn’t saving files properly so I had to redo part of this assignment. I have the issue with saving solved now but it was quite stressful in the moment. It saved some of the file but not all so I had to redo it from about the 5th frame and recolour all of it.
I then coloured it using the fill tool but I found that I had to go over some of the lines again as they weren’t fully connected and led to the colour spilling out. I really like how this turned out however some of the black outlines ended up a lot thinner after I used the fill tool.
Overall I really enjoyed this class and I will use these techniques for tidying up my final animation when I start it. I think I will mainly use a mixture of both the bezier curve and the stabiliser brush as I found I couldn’t really get the hang of the weighted brush.
