What is an infographic and why do we need them?
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, an infographic is “a visual representation of information or data”. is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of a topic. The most unique and creative infographics are most effective because they grab our attention and are more likely to retain information from them. They help us to understand a subject more by providing a quick overview to explain a complex topic. They are also useful when it comes to data recognition, as it is much more appealing to look at graphs and pie chats rather than a boring paragraph full of statistics.
It is also important to know, not only, what an infographic is, but also what they look like. A way I like to gather images for inspiration is to use Pinterest. I created a board where I put infographics which I thought would be beneficial or useful for me (in terms of inspiration). The link to that board is here.
