#IXD102-Week 11-A Brief History of the Future

Todays lecture was on the “Brief History of the Future”. Kyle told us about ways in which technology is constantly is improving, and how we can now purchase products that we didn’t even know were possible to create a few years ago. Products like this include, wearable smart watches, such as an Apple Watch or a FitBit which monitors your heart rate and steps whilst also storing your card details and being connected to your phone, allowing you to receive calls and texts through the device.

It is also improving in the sense that we are now able to talk to our devices and tell kit what to do. For Example, the amazon Alexa is a voice controlled device which does what the user tells it to do. It can do what used to be the unimaginable and can turn your lights on and off for you, it can tell you a joke, it can control your heating for you and so much more.

This has made me feel extremely motivated to be in this career field as I am now truly excited to be thrown into the deep end and hopefully start to design and create products that I had previously never thought possible in my life time.
