Ulster’s Pharmacy, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences courses have won top place in The Guardian’s University league tables for 2016.
Ulster is the only university to have scored 100% under the Guardian’s excellence rating, in addition to an excellent ‘value-added’ rating of 8 out of 10.

Monday-Thursday: 8.45 am – 5 pm
Friday: 8.45 am – 4 pm

David Sackett, the’ father of evidence based medicine’ has sadly died this week. His contribution to medicine and the discipline of EBP will never be forgotten.

We have been given trial access to the journal Future Oncology. The trial runs until 1/9/15 and is limited to on-campus access only.
The journal includes news and views, literature awareness regarding new biomarkers, concise commentary and analysis, reports from the conference circuit and full review articles. Topics covered include:
- Biological processes involved in cancer and how new understanding will impact treatment
- Clinical implications and applications for new biomarkers
- Impact of molecular genetics on prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment
- Integration of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches
- Profiles of new anticancer agents
- Selective and ‘personalized’ approaches
- Screening programs and methodology
Access to the journal is via our A-Z listing of electronic journals on the Library & ICT tab on the Portal and Library web site.
The Library has arranged a trial to AMA Manual of Style (10th edition), which will run until 7th June.
The trial allows on-campus users access via the AMA website at http://www.amamanualofstyle.com/

The Library will be opening earlier than usual over the exam period for the next couple of weekends.
All campus libraries will operate extended weekend opening hours in support of the May 2015 exam period:
|Saturday 9th May 10am – 5pm
|Sunday 10th May 10am – 5pm
|Saturday 16th May 10am – 5pm
|Sunday 17th May 10am – 5pm
During weekdays, Jordanstown Library will open at 7.30am and Magee Library will open at 8am, and close at 10pm on:
Mon 11th – Fri 15th May
Mon 18th – Fri 22th May
Coleraine and Belfast campus libraries will open at 8.45am as usual, but will close at 10pm.
Please note that between Tuesday 5th May – Friday 22th May, students will need their ID cards to enter the Library in Magee as you will need to swipe the sensor on the wall to the right of the revolving door in order to gain entry. See here for further details.
