New Titles Indexed in Scopus

The Scopus title list has been updated. More than 700 new titles have been added since the last update of the Scopus title list in April this year. This brings the total number of active titles in Scopus to almost 20,500. Scopus has broad coverage in all subject areas with 33% of its titles in Health Sciences, 30% in Physical Sciences, 22% in Social Sciences and 15% in Life Sciences.

In addition, in order to more accurately measure the impact of journal included in Scopus, SNIP and SJR journal metrics have been updated. This new release offers an up-to-date overview of journal performance in terms of citations and ranking. Both SNIP and SJR metrics have been modified and the values for the years 1999-2011 (2011 full year included) have been updated.

Education database full text links

If you are searching the British Education Index, ERIC and Australian Education Index library databases you may notice some unusual problems when trying to access selected full text items.

Over the summer the American education database, ERIC (Education Resources Information Center), noticed potential breaches of confidentiality in some of their online documents.  As a result, they have restricted their full text access, and in those circumstances, request users to contact ERIC directly for the PDF.

If you you choose to contact ERIC you should be aware that they warn there may a considerable delay before thay can answer the request.
