ixd104 – infographic icon designs

Below are icons I have created so far my infographic. As I’m covering the Fukushima Daiichi Disaster, I decided to create icons to represent each natural disaster/accident that took place. Most were created on Figma except the Tsunami icon/illustration. I struggled trying to create a shape that looked natural or look anything like a wave. I had even originally tried to use the pen tool to trace over my pen sketches but still didn’t like the outcome. I ended up using Illustrator to create my icon as I used the mesh tool on the anchor point to create the outcomes effect. I’m quite happy with the tsunami outcome as I didn’t have much experience with Illustrator going into this project.
