IXD302 – week 11 – Designing my pitch slides

After researching exactly what I should include, and how slide structure should be laid out, I decided to begin wire framing my slides.  I at first created a general narrative and structure before getting into finer details.  I did this with my portfolio website too and it really helped me to understand the importance and hierarchy of information before writing the content and adding visuals.

7 Ways to Take Your Presentation Structure to the Next Level

CREATING A GENERAL STRUCTURE/ NARRATIVE

I noticed in other investor pitches, that they would begin with a problem, show statistics on this problem, and convince the audience of its existence, and then would begin explaining the solution to this problem.  After doing this they would begin to draw parallels between how their product offers this solution and what it would do in order to help fix it.

Something I noticed about all of the presentations was how they didn’t talk business until the audience was clued in on the problem and why the product was good.  This is because the business side of things such as the model and the timeline will only bore them if they’re not convinced that the product is a good idea, and the basics of why it will do well on the market first.
