While exploring different techniques throughout our workshop, I decided I liked the look of lace applique with a simple running stitch though it to resemble a flower, and wanted to incorporate it onto my shirt.
i then started cutting some flower shapes from the lace material and embroidered some stems on the cuffs and collar of the shirt using embroidery thread.
I am very pleased with the way they turned out, like a poppy flower and decided that i wanted to also create the same design on the pocket of the shirt.
after completing this I began thinking about how I could further embellish it, without ruining the style as I liked it despite being very simple.
while printing and making stencils I discovered I could add some prints etc, onto the back of the shirt so that I could keep the simplicity and minimalism on the front but create a beautiful pattern on the back.
one of my prints stood out to me more than others.
I then set about creating a similar pattern on the shoulder section on the back of the shirt.
To finish the shirt off I decided I needed some more embellishments on the front and chose to create the same embroidery pattern, of the poppy like flowers, down the button holes.
